Senior Airman (SrA) Jonathon Lopez Memorial Scholarship
Senior Airman Jonathon Lopez was a cybersecurity hero—a dedicated Information Systems Security Officer whose expertise, integrity, and commitment to protecting our nation’s critical infrastructure made him indispensable to his mission and his team. We lost Jonathon in a car accident in March 2026.
This scholarship continues his legacy by supporting military veterans and their families who are pursuing careers in cybersecurity and technology.
Gerry Wieland Scholarship
Gerry Wieland is a California native and proud United States Marine who served his country during the Vietnam War. His legacy of resilience, strength, and humor is felt daily by those who know and love him.
Gerry starts every day saying "It's a great day, for a great day," and is a firm believer that "It's not how you start, it's how you finish."
In honor of that spirit, this scholarship is dedicated to CyRoot Academy students driven to pursue careers in technology and leadership, proving that a strong finish defines your journey.
Bill Tillman Scholarship
Some people serve once. Bill Tillman served twice.
Bill dedicated four years to the United States Air Force as a Security Police and Law Enforcement Specialist with the 416th Security Police Squadron at Griffiss AFB in Rome, New York — honorably discharged as Sergeant (E-4).
He then spent over two decades in law enforcement, retiring as Detective Lieutenant and Narcotics Unit Commander, with additional service at the Boulder City Police Department and the Marshals Office in Nevada.
Bill is a rider at heart and a community hero in every sense of the word. This scholarship carries his legacy forward.
